Reporting to the Financial Controller, we are looking for a highly skilled and motivated management accountant to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, have excellent attention to detail and be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
As a management accountant, you will play a crucial role in analysing financial information, preparing monthly management accounts, adhering to financial controls, and have overall responsibility of financial processes.
You will also collaborate with departments across the business to help develop financial information, and to ensure that the quality of financial data captured is representative of business performance.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Analyse financial data from various sources.
- Develop and maintain financial models both for routine and ad-hoc purposes.
- Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
- Maintain adherence to robust financial controls.
- Collaborate with departments to develop operational/financial understanding.
- Challenge existing ways of working and recommend areas for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies.
- Assisting with annual audits.
- Identifying areas of improvement and efficiency, adopting best practice and automation where possible.
- Take on ad hoc financial tasks and projects as required.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
Essential
- ACCA/ACA/CIMA part of fully qualified with experience of working in a similar finance role.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (Pivot tables/Xlookups)
- An aptitude for general IT, but specifically Power BI and automation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
Desirable
- Experience in manufacturing, engineering or defence industry environments.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to manipulate/transform data.
- Detail-orientated with a high level of accuracy.
- Confident, adaptable personality with a positive attitude towards change and new challenges.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Curious mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Experience working with ERP systems is desirable (but not essential).
