    As the company grows and expands into new sectors, it’s essential to maintain a connected, informed, and engaged workforce. We are creating a dedicated Internal Communications Specialist role to ensure our employees remain aligned with Pearson Engineering’s vision, values, and strategic objectives.

    The Role

    We are seeking a proactive and creative Internal Communications Specialist to join our Marketing and Communications team. Based at our Newcastle upon Tyne facility, you will develop and deliver clear, consistent, and engaging internal communications for our workforce of approximately 500 employees.

    You will support leadership visibility, employee engagement, and change management initiatives, helping to strengthen our culture and foster a sense of community across the business.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop and implement internal communication strategies aligned with Pearson Engineering’s objectives and values.
    • Create engaging content for newsletters, intranet, email, digital signage, and town halls.
    • Partner with HR, Operations, and other teams to support change communications and employee engagement initiatives.
    • Manage the internal communications calendar and ensure timely delivery of messages.
    • Support crisis and operational communications, ensuring clarity and consistency.
    • Collect and analyse employee feedback to continuously improve communication effectiveness.
    • Champion Pearson Engineering’s tone of voice and brand in all internal messaging.
    • Measure and report on the impact of internal communications initiatives.

    About You

    You are a skilled communicator who can combine strategic thinking with hands-on execution. You enjoy creating content that engages employees, supports organisational goals, and strengthens culture.

    Essential Experience:

    • Proven experience in internal communications, ideally within manufacturing, engineering, or a technical environment.
    • Strong writing, editorial, and content creation skills.
    • Experience leveraging intranet platforms and digital communication tools.
    • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and influence senior stakeholders.
    • Proactive, organised, and able to manage multiple priorities.

    Desirable Experience:

    • Knowledge of employee engagement and change management principles.
    • Experience with internal digital content platforms (e.g., Oak).
    • Understanding of internal communications best practices in a manufacturing or technical setting.

    Security Requirements

    As a defence contractor, all employees must be able to successfully achieve the relevant UK security clearances.
