Pearson Engineering Ltd is entering an exciting new chapter—strategically moving into the world of automation and robotics. To support this evolution, we are creating a brand-new role for a talented Digital Animator to join our R&D and Marketing & Communications teams.

About the Role
As our first in-house Digital Animator, you will sit at the intersection of technical innovation and creative storytelling. Working alongside our R&D and Marketing teams, you will be responsible for bringing products, concepts and environments to life using cutting-edge animation techniques—primarily within Unreal Engine 5.
Your work will help communicate our Robotics and Autonomous Systems (RAS) vision internally and externally, while also contributing to the development of:
- Digital twins of our systems
- Virtual training and testing environments.
- Immersive sales support tools.
- Branded visual content and promotional materials.
From early concept to final polished animation, you’ll deliver assets that showcase Pearson Engineering’s future—aligned with our evolving brand and messaging.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and animate high-quality digital assets using Unreal Engine 5.
- Develop realistic digital environments for testing, training, and promotion.
- Collaborate with R&D, Marketing, and Business Development to form storyboard concepts and solutions.
- Maintain and update assets in alignment with brand standards.
- Stay ahead of animation and Unreal Engine trends to drive innovation.
- Ensure performance optimisation, consistency, and brand integration across all media.
About You
We are looking for a mid- to senior-level animator with a strong technical mindset and an eye for detail. You will thrive working independently across departments and managing your own animation projects.
Essential
- Proven experience producing high-level animations using Unreal Engine.
- Deep understanding of animation principles, motion and timing.
- Strong grasp of brand consistency and visual storytelling.
- Able to work fluidly between creative and technical teams.
- Experience working from concept to final delivery.
Desirable
- Proficiency with additional tools such as Blender or version control systems like Git.
- Experience collaborating with digital twins or interactive environments.
- Background or interest in defence, engineering, or technical subjects.
Security & Clearance Requirements
- Due to the nature of our work, candidates must be able to obtain Security Clearance (SC).
Working Pattern & Benefits
- Hybrid working: Based in Newcastle, with remote work on Mondays and Fridays.
- Core hours: 08:30–16:30 Monday to Thursday, early finish on Fridays.
