Electrical Technician

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Electrical Technician to join our engineering team. This hands-on role involves assembling, testing, and fault-finding electro-mechanical products and control systems. You will play a key part in developing our products and technology, ensuring reliability and adherence to best practice and defined engineering processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble, test, and troubleshoot electronic and electrical systems to support the wider engineering team.
- Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplined team to meet project requirements and deliverables.
- Assist with build, commissioning, and trials of prototypes and new products.
- Execute electrical and electronic test requirements for prototypes and production units.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues, proposing effective solutions.
- Maintain accurate records, including stock management and test reports.
- Keep up to date with technical trends to enhance test and fault-finding methods.
- Collaborate with Commercial, Sales, and Project teams to improve efficiency and product effectiveness.
- Communicate professionally with colleagues, directors, and clients.
- Undertake other related duties as required.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience in a manufacturing environment within a relevant industry.
- Skilled in assembling and testing electronic, electrical, and electro-mechanical products.
- Competent in fault-finding using tools such as multimeters and oscilloscopes.
- Knowledge of DC electrical systems and ability to read schematics and cable harness drawings.
- Proficient in MS Office applications (Excel, Word).
- Experience working within a multi-disciplinary engineering team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to explain complex procedures clearly.
- Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to meet deadlines without compromising quality.
Desirable
- IPC-610 and IPC-620 certification.
- Familiarity with CAD packages (E3, Altium, Inventor).
- Knowledge of PLCs and programming software such as CODESYS.
- Understanding of stock management systems and processes.
