    Responsive Engineering Ltd is a manufacturing organisation within the defence sector, specializing in complex fabrications and delivering end to end manufacturing capabilities.

     

    Job Purpose

     

    Reporting to the Production Manager, the primary role is to work as part of the inspection team. You will be trusted partner responsible for ensuring that all manufactured products in the fabrication and welding area fully conform to customer requirements, whilst maintaining the company's focus on safety, quality, cost and delivery.

    Key Responsibilities

     

    • Inspection of fabricated & welded components - Dimensionally, Visual & NDT to ensure the correct quality
    • Liaise with engineering team to clarify inspection and testing requirements
    • Liaise with goods inward for the inspection of raw materials, components and associated certification
    • Support the production team with in-process inspection and testing of components for manufacture
    • Maintain product traceability and compliance to required standards
    • Quarantine and identify non-conforming parts to ensure all product non-conformances are accurately reported
    • Support problem-solving activities and investigations where product or process non-conformance has been identified
    • Contribute to quality led improvement initiatives and support quality performance

     

     

    Skills/Experience

     

    • Relevant experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment
    • Proficient in reading, understanding and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
    • CSWIP 3.1 certified
    • PCN Level 2 MPI
    • PCN Level 2 Dye Pen (desired)
    • Competent with manual inspection processes using equipment such as tapes, rules, and squares
    • Good written and verbal communication skills
    • Excellent attention to detail and focus on quality at all times
    • Self-motivated and confident when taking responsibility for all areas of work

    • Flexibility to work shifts and overtime as required to support business needs
    • Drive for improvement - Actively participate in continuous improvement discussions & willing to share best practice

     

    Personal attributes and other requirements

     

    • As a defence contractor, we have a number of security obligations placed upon the Company, which means that all our staff must be able to successfully achieve the relevant security clearances.
    • You will be expected to support in-house training programmes, as required.
